Construction activities began on schedule on September 4, 2007 and were completed spring 2009. This project included the 3,683’ segment of Beckrich Road (now Richard Jackson Blvd) from north of Front Beach Road (SR 30) to south of Back Beach Road (US 98). New travel lanes were constructed resulting in a four lane roadway. Turn lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, storm water detention ponds and landscaping were added. All utilities were relocated underground. New traffic signals were installed and updated signing and pavement markings were also included in this project.
GAC, Inc. of Panama City was the construction contractor.
The cost of construction was approximately $9.9 million and was funded entirely by the Panama City Beach CRA.
