- 2001 - Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area was created and validated
- The City Council, sitting as Ex-Officio Governing body, directs all redevelopment efforts
- Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Area does not include the Pier Park Community Redevelopment Area

Objectives - At a glance
- Create a “walkable community” with extensive sidewalks, bike paths, enhanced streetscapes and people friendly areas
- Improve mobility along Front Beach road and connector roads
- Provide better beach access and increased public parking
- Establish efficient and practical funding to properly implement the objectives
- Encourage private/public partnerships
- Develop programs to encourage economic development and revitalization
